Tic Tac Toe is a wonderful game for young children (works for adults, too) and can be used in educational settings.  Many educators use Tic Tac Toe as a reward to children for completing various stages of the child's book - Paul Bunyan's Tall Tale. Mosts adults can remember Tic Tac Toe as the very first game they learned to play.
